As far as an intriguing title goes, The Afternoon Tea at Midnight would be more interesting without the “The” in the title. Since I don’t really know what the story is about, I have to go on where the title takes me. Using “The” in its title suggests to me that Afternoon tea could be a one time only occasion. Removing it makes me think that afternoon tea is a common occurrence but perhaps having it at midnight is something special.
I think you nailed it! I first wanted to vote for that title, but changed my mind, just didn’t know why. With that simple change, I think it would have been my preferred title. Well done.
Who is doing the prelim voting?
Only one feature title gives a hint to the genre: Invisible Prisons
Zero titles appeal in the pilots.
Only one short title gives any hint to what it’s about: DNR
Frankly, none entice me to want to see/read them, though I have hope that the title turns out to be clever AFTER reading/seeing. But it really should be more of a hook with a hint – IMO.
I have resisted responding to the best title selections but I have to say that, if these are the best titles chosen, I hope the writers are better at story.
Go Brea!
