What Is BlueCat?
Discovering Unknown Screenwriters Since 1998
BlueCat has been one of the most respected screenplay competitions in the world for over 25 years. We were built on a belief that was considered radical at the time: every writer who enters deserves a genuine, written analysis of their screenplay.
Not a ranking. Not a form letter. A real critique of your script — what’s working, what isn’t, and why — included with every entry at no extra charge. Every script is guaranteed to be read and evaluated from start to finish.
We accept feature screenplays (65–125 pages) and short scripts (1–29 pages). There is no age limit. International writers are welcome and eligible for the Fellini Award for Best International Script.

Resubmissions are allowed. Revise your script based on your feedback and reenter — up to twice per script. BlueCat is designed to help you improve, not just rank you.
