Eight Walls Two Doors
An immigrant Chinese woman in New York travels between past and present while her husband explores a relationship with an older Polish woman.
Miaochun Zhang (1993, China) is a Beijing born filmmaker, visual artist and writer. She fell in love with independent and arthouse cinema from pirate dvd stands in the hutongs. Miaochun migrated to the U.S. at age 15 and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Her writings and artworks have been featured on multiple nationally distributed publications and renowned online platforms.From 2015 to 2021, Miaochun crowdfunded and directed the feature documentary I Don’t Remember That I Dreamed. She was selected for and participated in Creators Lab with Apichatpong Weerasethakul in 2023. Miaochun’s films explore the relationships between bodies and their surrounding spaces, often from a diaspora perspective.
